Morrison on the Park is a new courtyard townhouse project proposed to the immediate south of The Morrison project, which is currently under construction. The overall site planning strategy builds upon the success of The Morrison by arranging the four buildings around a common park-like courtyard with visual connections to the new Moodyville Park. This common courtyard is conceived as the primary gathering and activity space which provides the connective glue that supports an enriching social fabric for the entire project.
A gently meandering path, flanked by native plants and trees, provides access to the individual units as well as the cross connections through the site from the Morrison and the new living laneway. There are 53 units which provide a variety of housing options ranging from accessible one bedroom units to two and three bedroom stacked townhouses. Two levels of parking are accessed from the northwest corner of the lane. The main staircase and elevator lobby are positioned at the midpoint of the project with direct southern exposure to East 2nd Avenue. This grand entry is characterized by abundant natural daylight which penetrates down to the lower parking levels. With exposed mass timber; the new canopy features a green roof which also actively manages water from the adjacent roofs. Active rain water management runs through the project and is put on display through a series of rain gardens and water features.
